Note: The restoration project aims to achieve a “Holiday home” for the reception and residence of students of the University of Catania. The building, a building erected in the early nineteenth century, brings out the purposes of composition and architectural language of the body, in fact construction grafted perfectly (over 24 meters) on the edge of the road via Ventimiglia, the prospect of extending large adjacent building. The construction on the ground floor is constituted by two portions separated by a third property of “other company”. The physical continuity is restored to the upper floor (first floor), characterized by compositional rigor and symmetry of the openings. The functional purpose planned will ensure the necessary conditions of stay in the city university, providing students with the right conditions for the frequency of functional classes and the achievement of the qualification, together with tools to support educational, cultural and recreational. The service provided by the “Holiday home” tends to promote social integration and cultural diversity of university students in the complex social structure and cultural center of Catania.
